Does anybody know where i could find an ALTIMIT desktop theme like the one in dot hack\\SIGN? if not, does anybody know how i could make one?

i can't remember a scene in that series when you see a computer screen.
isn't it all inside The World?

mostly, there are very little scenes where you see the computer screen, but in dot hack\\LIMINALITY, or on the japanese dot hack website (google it) you can see the ALTIMIT OS desktop, really neat ;)

if you got some pictures of it, I'm sure someone could make it for you, or you yourself could even learn how to do LiteStep themes, and then from there, aim to make an ALTIMIT one...

yeah.....i like sign and dusk too....if anybody could go to the japanese dot hack site.. that is a perfect view of ALTIMIT. if anyboody could make this for me or maybe help me do this because i am a total n00b in litestep :p

It looks a lot like just plain old windows really. Desktop icons, Start menu, that's about it.
Sure, the icons are animated, that's pretty cool, but otherwise it seems like it would be simply a matter of making a wallpaper like that one, and making a black button labeled start which triggers a popup, and some black boxes next to that that do nothing...

yeah.. that's the site.. also spiritofcat, there is the wormhole thing by the ALTIMIT logo... btw, i have a site with some resources if anyone is interrested... http://www.altimit-os.net also.. the black boxes that do nothing on the site is supposed to be stuff like winamp and the regular stuff that's in litestep.

Well I don't know if active desktop works in Litestep or if it's a function of explorer, but if it works you could use it to put a gif or flash animation of the wormhole where you wanted it. Otherwise you could probably use a label with a gif on it I suspect. I don't really know how labels work, but surely you could do something like that, and make it not always on top, or even have some script that ensures it is always on the bottom so it seems to be part of the desktop.

judging only by spiritofcat's link to that .swf, i would look into lsdynamic, layercut and skinbox

ok, i see that if you go to the display properties that you can use an active desktop but the webpage is a flash animation. can anybody help me with this

active desktop wont work with litestep, it is a part of explorer. try using oborzevatel

ok. since there is most likely no ALTIMIT theme, and also since i belive this theme would big, i will make it and probally post it on this site for others to download. i have just one question.. Since i know next to nothing about litestep, is there anybody expirienced who would be willing to help me?
