weird, ive never had problems with miranda not showing. what version are you using? nightlies should work, if you are using pre0.3.1 i think there was a bug when they removed icq from the core.

Funny, I'm using both Miranda and vtray but I haven't noticed any problems. But then again I'm running XP, so maybe it's just another case of the old icons-disappearing-under-2K disease... (allegedly fixed I think but you never know)

I'm using 0.3.1 so sryo might be right...

Its like the vtay has a low updaterate .. when it should "flash" when someone comes online it just dissapears for awhile .. very strange ..

have you tried with this?:
[Tray]IconTimer
Int, default: 10, (value: 1-600)
How often in seconds VTray should check icon hiding/flashing/cleaning.

has anyone yet found a fix for this?

no fix needed as there is no bug. miranda icon is showing fine here, latest nightly, latest vtray, latest lsbuild.

it does so here, but when i have it hooked to xlabel, it doesn't... i don't like to come across all the strange effects of hooking vtray to xlabel :(
