boot in dos (f8 just after the memory check) and run edit c:\windows\system.ini
edit the line shell=c:\litestep\.... and make it say shell=explorer.exe
reboot and you should be running explorer again, then try with other themes, to see if the problempersists. i dontknow that theme, so i cant tell if the bug is there.

I had this problem... I cut around the reboot and got into explorer and hit the "Set Explorer as shell" shortcut.

I think the reason is that it prompts you to fix links and make sure the stuff is pointed in the right place.

Salutations to all you gurus of LiteStep out there. I have a very n00b-ish question I wish an answer to (or is it for?)

Anyway, the "default" theme of the new LiteStep-build, the "austerity" theme, I somehow managed to hide the bottom bar and I have not a single clue as to how to make it visible again. Recycling it doesn't bring it back, neither does a reboot. So.. heh.. help, please?

As for other matters, I think I'm trying to get the hang of all the text-strings for manual editing. :)

Invoker - look around the forums...or read the manual...and find your answer.

most themes have their own popup menu with settings and such ..

try holding shift and clicking the desktop area with your left mouse button.

Thanks for the info. I'll get right on it.

EDIT: That did the trick, thanks.
