Problem w/ LS+XP Thread last updated on 2003-02-20 09:01:03

I am having a problem with getting LS to run on my XP box. I haven't actually used LS since I was running W98 and LS was only b24.something. So, here's my dilemma. I installed LS and ran through the regeistry editing (yes, I double-checked). When running LS, any time I try to open a folder it gives me "cannot find e:\, " and runs explorer.exe (which only manifests itself as the taskbar, but not the desktop). LS then proceeds to lock up until I CTRL-ALT-DEL explorer.exe. I'm guessing it's something in the registry, but I have no idea what as I'm even less experienced with registry moding.

(aka Help would be appreciated)

honestly man, just hit ls-ots.cjb.net and grab the installer, let it do all the work. :)

Thanks for suggestions. I got it to work - it was that HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\current version\explorer\advanced\folder\DesktopProcess\DefaultValue was set to 0. I set it to 1 and things or groovy... hopefully. Am I the only one to have had this problem, though?

I've got a similar problem here. When i start litestep on top of a explorer session (LS as a program, not as a shell replacement), the LS freezes and i have to kill it with CTRL+ALT+DEL. I've made that change in the registry but it didn't solve my problem. Any ideas?
