A friend of mine just turned me on to Litestep, and it looks pretty neat so far. One thing that annoyed me was that I don't seem to usually be able to change the desktop wallpaper.

Could someone recommmend a module/plugin thingee or something to switch the wallpapers that will work with the latest version of Litestep and Win2K? Especially something on the simple side - being that I am new to LS. (Please be kind to the n00b! I'm just now learning this shell as of last night. I'm *old* (quite) to PC's but new to LS.)

Thanks in advance! :)

use bmp and you'll be fine.

with win2k, you can only use bmp wallpapers. us winxp people get to use jpg's also. :D

LOL, yeah... Well duece that doesn't bug me too much, it's easy enough to switch formats. My real problem is though, that the themes I am loading all seem to have some kind of default or pre built wallpapers, and I can't seem to find out where to switch them in LiteStep... Switching them in my Windows Display manager doesn't have any effect...
:(

check the theme.ini in the theme dir (probably C:\litestep\profiles\username\themes\themename if you left everything to the default if not the is under applications data in the doc and settings folder or finally just C:\litestep\themes\themename) if OTS2( the lastest LS Installer ) and remove the Wallpaper setting.

if it OTS then probably one of these wallpaper modules are loaded

simply comment out the Loadmodule line in the step.rc of the theme like so
;Loadmodule "$ModuleDir$lswallpaper.dll"

and that should fix the problem

lswchanger.dll is the best :)

smurth, I think that's what i used before winxp. it was a really nice module, really simple to use.
