Litestep once again crashed on my computer. This happened once before so i know with file to change a line of code it. only problem is i don't know how to get to dos mode from the start up screen. I thought you pushed F8 but it still starts up my computer as it normally would. Help me please.

try f5 or shift depending on the version of windows ( although i pretty sure shift was a win31/dos thing )

If litestep.exe doesn't crash immediately you can use the ctrl-alt-f1 recovery menu to launch your favorite text editor. :)

which version of windows are you running? i think you need to push either ctrl or f8, BEFORE windows starts to load (ie right at the end of the memory tests).

Just start hitting F8 straight from BIOS, that always works. If you want to get to DOS in XP I'm not sure though. I have HOME :(, and the only way to get to DOS is to boot from the CD and select .... uhm, recovery mode or something along those lines. Not really sure what it's called, but I do know it takes ages to load all kinds of drivers you'll never use in DOS, and that the final state is something that may have you fooled it's DOS, but not quite ;)

well then, I don't know. I have never (and will never) touched ME. it's probably one of the two though(ctrl or f8).
