File Manager Problems using Explorer.exe Thread last updated on 2003-10-29 18:03:48

Well,
I seem to be in a bit of trouble here. Changing shells on an OS is new to me, all seemed to go well until I ran in to a OS failure when trying to open Explorer.exe as my file manager. Anyone got an answer to my question of how the hell I fix this so I don't crash LiteStep? I am ripping my hair out trying to fix this, lol. Heres my the system info:

Base OS: Windows ME
LiteStep OS: 0.24.7

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well... what is the exact error message that you get, and are there any error logs?

Critical Error message. Yeah, i figured it was just having a problem with the windows oriented software, that probably tries to load the origional shell, so...it crashes. My way of solving the problem. New file manager. I think I'll just make one with Visual Basic...blah.

Make sure you rebooted after installing LS.

Yeah if you dont reboot explorer.exe is still set as shell and any reference to explorer.exe opens the shell.
