Soon it will be on the LSDev tab but we have some work yet to do there.

Actually http://indiestep.sourceforge.net is more up to date at the moment, when it comes to 0.24.6 builds anyway.
If you want to install LiteStep for the first time you should use the LS Installer, which you can find here: http://beyondconvention.net/ohussain/installer.htm

The link with the LS installer does not seem to be working for me. Anywhere else I can get it?

Omar link works fine

Can someone please post the direct download link for this program?

Posted by member 1 on 2003-04-19 23:29:59 link

It is important to read the websites on the different downloads. Giving you a direct download you could get something that you don't understand.

For a WYSIWYG like me I like to using the installer: http://www.beyondconvention.net/ohussain/installer.htm

for newbies and experts try the new EZ2Install RC2
(about one week has the release but LS.net didn't
care to show it in his news)

AngelKnight: For XP users, is this as simple and safe as Omar's?

Posted by member 6801 on 2003-07-17 16:02:36 link

omar installer its good, but some registry keys didn't have avaible in his 2.1 version

thats why i make EZ2Install, have all DLL and registry keys
thats dont have omar's one.

and thats why i consider that EZ2Install its more simple
and safe than omar's one

for XP and 2000 ... EZ2i works exelent..
just see by yourself...

i didn't want to replace the omar installer...
i just make another option for the people :)

the link and banner can found it in the
links sections of this page

Posted by member 1 on 2003-07-17 20:12:33 link

It didn't appear in the news section because you didn't submit it to the site. Go to Downloads and upload a copy of it.

sorry to think bad devilboi... but i got no response when i send the news... (like happened in shellfront too)

ill upload it now

imo Omar's LS Installer should be recommended for newbies as it is more mature and has been tested for a long time. It was constantly improved with community feedback (mostly LSML I guess). And the LSTS "bug" is not its fault, it's the themes that are set up incorrectly. I suppose the next LS Installer version will include the patch though.

Posted by member 6801 on 2003-07-18 08:27:27 link

lsts bug? thats new one.
i hope omar get better LS Installer in the next version.

ILM, try to install omar ls one in a clean 9x or XP computer
with just only the installer
(without downloading dlls and didn't configure registry keys)
and there you will see why i made EZ2I

instead, i personaly like omar installer because have
more expert options than EZ2I for instalation.
(beggining with omar's one didn't replace the older files
in LS directory when you didn't want it, and other
usefull options)

like i say before and like i say in all posible litestep
pages, i just make a new option for the people and not
a only one way. feel free to download any of both installer, Omar or EZ2I, when you test the 2 of them, you can make the real choice freely.

"try to install omar ls one in a clean 9x or XP computer
with just only the installer"

This is what I've done on both my work and home XP systems. Both times it was seamless.

mm i have xp, omar works good, but i am just installing the EZ2install to test..lets see if it works better

Posted by member 6801 on 2003-09-13 10:49:59 link
