IE Quicklaunch folder emulation Thread last updated on 2003-11-15 22:57:44

Hey folks. I'm wondering if anyone knows a good way of *fully* emulating the functionality of explorer's quicklaunch bar.

Specifically, to display a list of icons, defined by the .lnk files in the application data\internet explorer\quicklaunch folder, and to be able to drag a file onto the bar and have a shortcut appear there.

I tried lslnkmenu but it doesn't suit my needs, I need it to function more as a tray-like bar addon.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

LSQuickLaunch

Dev, know where I can find that? The only thing on ShellFront is LSQuickBox, which has even more limited functionality than lsLnkMenu :(

Tried lookin it up on google and it's gotta be one of maybe 5 searches in my life that actually turned up with 0 results

Yes, it's lsquickbox, maybe you should take an old lsapi.dll and put it in the same dir than lsquickbox.
Maybe it won't works!

...but you can do funny things if you like scripting :)

I don't mind scripting but excessive scripting or anything requiring a recycle to implement is too much for me ;)

Since there's !reload, no more need of recycling :)
but when I talk about scripting, you should understand "excessive scripting" :D

searching shellfront I found one called Lnkbox that might do what you want, I am trying to find this exact thing actually.

I seem to recall trying LnkBox and everything else on SF that had a name that even remotely implied that it might do what I'm lookin for, with no luck...

If you get it working properly let me know though!

Don't loose your time, lnkbox is a very limited module: fixed entries number, no icons...
