Multimonitor User Question Thread last updated on 2003-10-27 14:10:49

I've read all the old forum info on multimonitor support, and the lack thereof, but I'm pretty happy with the way I've got it working finally. The question I've got for anyone out there with any more expertise than me is; Is there a way to turn off the feature that switches the desktop to one of the other ones when you click on it? The VMw settings apparently switch me back to the default 1st workspace whenever I click in any of the other ones. Is there a setting that turns off this automatic switching, as that would completely do it for me?

I know this is challenging to explain, so if that makes no sense, imagine 2 physical monitors along with the 4 vitual desktops LS gives you:

Physical Monitors [ 1 ] [ 2 ]
Virtual Desktops { 1 } { 2 } { 3 } { 4 }

Now, LS gives you 4 Virtual Desktops to work with, but with the multiple monitors, I can see onto the one to the right of whichever is on my main screen at all times. When I click on that screen, however, it becomes my main monitor, and moves me over one Virtual Desktop screen.

[ 1 ] [ 2 ]
{ 1 } { 2 } { 3 } { 4 }

Thus, I cannot see what I was doing in screen 1 again without moving back over, loosing the ability to work in screen 2.

Is there a setting which disables that auto switching? If so, where do I find it? Thank you for all the help.
