Dual-Monitor --> Two Taskbars Thread last updated on 2003-10-16 00:08:50

Hi,

i really like LiteStep, but there's one thing I haven't found yet.
Since I have two Monitors, I use use Ultramon to add an extra Taskbar to the secondary Monitor, only showing its tasks. In use, this looks like this: http://p.infinitesimal.org/desktop/taskbars.png

Is it possible to do that with LiteStep? Or, is it at least possible to have two Taskbars that both show all Tasks?

Kindest Regards

Basically you would have to extend the width over both monitors. so if you have 2 800x600 displays and wanted a taskbar the entire length it would be a width of 1600.

except that, if you want to do something like what you have in your screenshot, then you would need to do something different. have the top one be a taskbar, systray and clock. the one on the side, since all it has are shortcuts, then it could just a bar with shortcut.dll shortcuts.

You can display two taskbars, but you have to cheat. Either use tasks.dll for one and taskbar3 (or whatever) for the other, or make a second copy of whatever taskbar module you want and hack the dll with a hex editor so it uses different settings & windowclass.

afaik there is currently no way to filter the tasks by monitor though. (and that might get tricky to implement in case you had a vwm too)
