This thread is just to give a BIG THANK YOU to Omar for his amazing work in the LS Installer.
Hail to you Omar !

AND A BIG YOR WELCOME TO YOU :)

(Seriously, though, don't mind me, I like injecting humour wherever possible, generally speaking. I truly appreciate the sentiment you've expressed here, it was a lot of work over many nights and it's gratifying to hear this. :)

Wooooaaaahhh!! Now this thread has just reached it's target :)
I was wandering if you'll ever see this. A lot of people saw this thread but apparently were too shy to post their thanks too :)

Good job man, a little odd for a few minutes in conversion, but the installer as a whole was awesome. Checked all the reg entries before and after and all is well. Bitchen man.

Austerity is pretty nice :)

It looks good, and it works! Everyone should test their themes as much as omar. :D

Oh yeah, and the uninstaller. Love that the installer sets up an uninstaller. That makes it so much easier when you want to wipe out everything and install again. :)

Thanks guys. :D

(Only people who are a bit obsessive would test as much as me. :P Testing both the theme and the installer is a drag, there are so many features and options to exercise, it's a huge chore. ;)

austerity is really great for the default theme :) it's not too complicated and all the comments and explanations...
they can teach the newbs a lot.

so a huge bow to omar!

you're welcome guys. :)

oh and 143lsstep, simplicity and synchronicity were updated to be OTS2 compliant and released the same day as v2.9.4 of the installer at my site: ohussain.loose-screws.com (redirect for beyondconvention.net/ohussain

Kudos to you, Omar, and the entire LSDev Team. Your hard work and attention to detail have never gone unnoticed or unappreciated. My only question is...what's a "Thak"?

Posted by member 265 on 2003-10-11 16:23:53 link

indeed, sadly developers and module authors sometimes don't get the recogition they deserve. the dev team is pretty mysterious though, so hopefully they're happy wherever they are, and whoever they are. ;)

the people who have really made all of this possible are RabidCow and ilmcuts (and anyone else who worked on 0.24.7) and the site admins who have maintained module databases for us like root and cypress.

i'm not trying to play favourites, i must be forgetting someone important, but these are the people i can think of immediately who are truly deserving of thanks. :)

(i don't know what a 'thak' is, but i'll take it! :P)

"THAKYOU" is a large letter, usually followed by THAYOU.

and guys (to the dev team, including omar for the great series of installers), we really do appreciate all the hard work and time spent on everything. 0.24.7 works great. :)

A big thanks from me too!

Great work on the standard and the installer (not to mention the default theme).

Stellar work Omar!

LOL! Sorry for the bad typing. I just forgot the "N" :P
Anyway I think at least the majority of the people figure it out :)

Posted by member 265 on 2003-10-13 11:45:36 link

we all figured it out i'm sure, just having a bit of fun at your expense. :P

i'm a terrible typist myself, you'd think i didn't know how to spell after reading many of my posts. ;)

My problem is that I'm always posting in a high speed way, so the boss can't see what I'm doing :)
