I'm on win98se..
160 ram..
16 video..
p266 /w mmx..
HP machine.

Installed a clean litestep. Full. With the simplicity theme included.

install went good. All programs set right.

Allowed to change shell on startup.

restarts (stupid HP vectra bios screen.. heh)

loads windows / litestep gui.

loads simplicity theme.

then I got about 7 errors with modules not found. erm. This doesnt look right. No sys tray, no menus. Luckily.. IE opened up with a readme, first time thing.. yay.. went to shell switcher from there, back on explorer again. Wondered why I dident work.

I would like to know how to install a new theme (console unit theme). And how to safegaurd so I can at least switch my explorer back to normal in case the litestep gui crashes. =\. As my floppy is... destroyed from a jammed disk, I dont want to buy a new one so I can format with my startup disk.. again.. any help please? PLease?

question did you use lsinstaller v2.9.x? (OTS2)if thats the case then the theme your using is probably not compatable(OTS). unless you coverted it your self.

Since the themes aren't OTS2 compliant they won't work correctly because the files that the litestep core looks for aren't there. You've got to convert the themes to OTS2 if you want to use them. If you want to use the older themes you are gonna have to go with the older installer 2.7.X(get the newest one)

Or you can open the "themeselect.rc" file located in the "themes" directory and put it to the Default theme by replacing whatever is in there with the following like
ThemeDir "$ThemesDir$austerity"

This will get you at least an interface to use provided you did a full install and had the installer extract the default theme.

Now, to get that theme you want to work correctly, you will have to make it OTS2 or else contact the author and see if they are working on making it OTS2 compliant.

Hope that helps.
