Is Warf Dead? Thread last updated on 2003-10-08 18:36:20

I've been out of the LiteStep community for many many years, but I faithfully run several LiteStep Warfs on every computer I use via LSFloater.

Is Warf now dead? I haven't seen a new Warf module or LSFloater in years.

i wouldn't say wharf is dead. its just out of favor with the community. the main problem is that it hasn't been updated in years. that and there is only so much that one can do with a wharf. i think they take up to much real estate for what it does personel.

It doesn't take up much space when you use two monitors. Anyhow, have you seen photos from Longhorn, the next major revision of Windows? It has something simular built in.

Hmmm...
Buy a second monitor, or stick with something simple...

humm, I like the wharf concept even if I never include it in my themes. Someone should really update it to allow multiples wharfs and right-click (and more - why not) actions.

Try WharfX or dwarf... they offer a lot more than the original wharf.

maybe self-made wharfs...

I completely agree. I think that some of the best _looking_ themes (imo) are wharf based, in particular, nixstep. I think an updated wharf would be great.

Started using wharfx after fumbling with wharf for awhile. It's very good, and since it'll take different sized images, it's not so bad on real estate.
