Error while changing themes Thread last updated on 2003-10-03 22:12:26

Hello, just installed it :)

Basic problem is, I cannot seem to be able to change themes. I go to the themes section of the site, search for ots themes, download them and then use the Install Theme from the right click menu. It always says that the theme could not be installed and asks if I want to see the log for what went wrong. I do! But when I click yes, nothing pops up :||
Please help me solve this.

Thx.

John

are you using the 2.9.4, right? if that's the case you'll have to wait, because it's an ots2 installer

From the changes file: LiteStep 0.24.7
From the readme file: LiteStep 0.24.7 Beta 4

:))

If I understand well, you mean that there are no ots2 compatible themes?
Thank you for your answer :)
I 've been trying manually to install them and continually reverting to the standard theme because everything was going blue :)

themes have to have the lsz extention for the auto-installer to work. and by the way howzit pro 0.7.0 is OTS2 complaint and was out first by me :)(besides the .lsz extention its zipped)

I renamed the Minibar theme to lsz but same error as in the log above :(

try unzipping the theme...the .lsz file might be inside.

Posted by member 67360 on 2003-10-03 19:55:09 link

there 's only the png, bmp and rc files :(

Posted by member 35 on 2003-10-03 21:28:21 link

there's a problem with the theme installer, unzip the contents of the lsz to the themes folder, and then run the lsz as you were doing before to add the theme to the themes menu.

btw, louder2, i thought i had sent you a mail yesterday informing you about this

Thank you very much sryo :))
I had not checked that mail account.
It works like a charm now :)))))))))))))

I like the minimalistic approach of your theme. It will be a nice change after some overblown themes I am used to (in linux afterstep I mean ;)) in work.

Did I mention that I love the autoinstaller of the missing theme components? ;))
