weatherdesk works well and is still up to date. if you want to see it in action, download phar0e's "galactic civilization" or "sage" themes, they both use it quite well.

There's also Boreas' GetWeather script which should be available on loose-screws. It uses label.dll to display weather info and seems to be pretty good judging from the LSML feedback :)

I went through the .html help page and got it to display all info except for the numbers
I get the conditions, and the wind direction, but no temp, windspeed, windchill, etc

I do not recommend lsweather - it makes my LiteStep crash.

The website weatherdesk gets the weather info from has repeatedly changed its format, as a result weatherdesk has become very unreliable. Unfortunately the sourcecode was never made public and the author's email bounces. Dunno about lsweather but a lot of ppl on the LSML seem to be very happy with GetWeather =P

k looked into GetWeather, looked pretty complex, but I'll give it a shot

Does anyone know of any themes which use GetWeather?

GetWeather is my personal favorite for weather modules. It's the most configurable one and it will tell you damn near anything you need to know about the weather, more than what you can tell by poking your head out the window. GetWeather with 2 labels is an awesome setup, I wouldn't trade it for the world. Hah and no I didn't make GetWeather, I just like it that much.

I personally don't like GetWeather all that much. It was a severe pain to get working and still doesn't work how I want it too. Hopefully Leafy Phil can get things fixed for me sometime soon.

Kevin...make a quick theme so I can see it in action. heh

The thing is with GetWeather, it doesn't work by itself. The GetWeather VBScript goes out and gets the weather and stores different information in different variables. You need something like Label.dll to display the information contained in the variables and make it useful. If you go to http://home.earthlink.net/~srcrider2/screeny.jpg you can see a screenshot of my desktop in progress but it does have a fully functional setup of GetWeather working along with two Labels, one to show the image and one to show the weather. It's actually very simple once you get the initial configuration down.

Thanks, Kevin! When you release your theme I'll be the first to d/l it...needs a VWM, tho. ;P

I don't use a VWM. And thanks for the compliments man but I can't even release that theme cause I stole the graphics from other themes and just changed the colors. The images are 100% original.

You know... linux is easier to setup a weather monitor than this...

Also, there's the new and awesome Lookoutside.dll.
Ok, the only public version is crap and isn't working anymore since the page it took its informations from is down, BUT the new version (which sits on my computer and on some beta-testers') is working with weather.com
Also, it is already possible to use translations (in french, german, portuguese and spanish).
Please, stay tuned.

I think I have an idea for people who can't find a weather script or are having a hard time setting it up. Go download a content grabber PHP script grab the content you want from a weather site, download a litestep news ticker and set it so it ticks the content you grabed. Would that work?
