What are some windows styles BEYOND that of the ones posted in the sticky? I've tried all of those and they either are dead or not all that great...

huh??? do you mean that you've downloaded themes, and that the windows aren't skinned like they are in the screenshots??

Nay, it is that when I use these, they either a) dont work with pre-xp (cough stylexp cough) that they tend to screw things up and crash (shellwm i believe) or that they have lost support. I am wondering because I want to find somee good powerful ones... and I belive there are many more than were in that sticky.

so, you mean that when you try to use either stylexp or shellwm, you have problems. well, if you want to pay, or don't mind nag-ware, then you can check out windowblinds. but those are the only three programs I can think of.
