Hi,

I haven't been around Litestep.net much but i hope there are some 'old timers' here that might be able to help me.
I am looking for two litestep themes:
1) Cygnus X-1 theme by Jalist from around Jan. 2000
and
2) Bignosestep2000 by ... from around the same time.

I have only found a wallpaper of Cygnus X-1 and some references in a newsletter from Chunkymunky...

If there is someone who still has those themes and is willing to help me out, please mail me at: dirk_even[AT]hotmail.com

Thanks in advance.

did you check on deviantart or customize.org? they may have themes that old, but I'm not sure.

Ow, and one small addition I only found a screeny (from Cygnus X-1) at deviantart :(

The file I have for you is 10M. You have somewhere where I can send it?

@DeViLbOi: i have sent an email with ftp details. I hope that's ok ;)

I have that theme in stock... modified to be OTS compliant...
Still interested?

I still can't get onto his FTP...I think its setup funny...but I have 8 versions of the themes.

I am still interested! Unfortunately due to NAT routing tricks my ftp is a bit grumpy. Some people connect without probs others can't even get a dir listing. New server is being build atm.

chp: are the themes on a place where I can grab them from?

No.... If you give me an email, I'll send them....

chp: i have sent you an email!

I'm also looking for cygnus x-1. Will it work with Win2000 at higher resolutions?

Posted by member 8807 on 2004-08-09 12:42:24 link

Couldn't get the connection between DeViLbOi and me working so i didn't receive the desired theme at the time. Stopped pursueing it, since i started on other themes. So you know i can't help you out :'(

What about chp? Now that I think of it, I might have a version of it on a zip disk.

For some kinda reason i can't find any communication with chp. But no worries i'm cool. Hope you find the theme on your zip disk ;)

I don't think it's the newest version though.

I found it! It was in fact in a zip disk! Can I send litestep.net this theme? Is anyone willing to work with me on this? I haven't used litestep in a while. You can download the theme from http://www.silentchaos.com/cygnusx1.zip

Cheers m8! Much appreciated!

You don't happen to have the wallpaper for cygnus X-1 at higher resolutions do you?

Posted by member 8807 on 2004-08-11 11:41:05 link

One thing i found a while ago was a screenshot of the theme. Nothing more. I even tried to look it up in the 'internet archive'. The only other thing i could find is the newsletter at shell-shocked which mentioned it: http://shell-shocked.org/include.php?file=xsweekly/issues/lsweekly/2000/040800-041400.txt

Yeah I've seen that. But I can't get the theme to work with litestep! Doh! Can you help?

Posted by member 8807 on 2004-08-12 16:20:18 link

I am not running litestep anymore. Just using Spark (which is pretty unknown i guess). The theme is 4 years old so i imagine that it's terribly obsolete by now ;) I can't help you with making it work (again), sorry ...

Hey. Out of interest, what is Spark? :)

Posted by member 8807 on 2004-08-17 16:02:42 link

Spark is a minimalistic shell programmed by azathoth (if the nick rings any bells). It's just virtual desktops and a popup. Tiny, fast and all i need :D
