I'm using Windows ME, LiteStep 2.5.
My problem is, any theme that uses taskbar3.dll, cannot seem to refresh the taskbar when opening/closing programs unless I hit recycle. I've tried different versions of the .dll, but all that seems to work is using the old tasks.dll, which with some of the cooler themes, doesnt work at all. Is there a setting, or something I can change to correct this issue?
Thank you in advance.
That's a problem I had reported to the author of Taskbar3. Apparently there's some problems with this module when running with the 0.24.7 betas (the one you're using is the beta 3 version that comes with the Installer 2.5). It seens that is a problem with LS 024.7 and not with the taskbar3. I'm waiting to move to 024.7 just because of this problem. If you use the latest Indie Build you'll have no problems like this.
Hope that helps
I have been running taskbar3 at home with beta 3 since beta 3 was released and haven't had a problem like this. By chance are you loading taskbar3 before your desktop module? Also are you running taskbar3, or your desktop module for that matter, threaded?
Indie LS seems to have solved the problem, thanks!
Once beta 4 comes out you can switch to .7 again, the problem appears to be fixed.
Well at least on 9x/ME. There was a report or two about this happening on 2k/xp as well, but I have no idea what could cause this if it is true. Works for me.
Ilmcuts, I use WinME and I have the problem with all beta versions of 24.7 but no problem with 24.6 (at least on Win ME). On WinXP I'm running 24.6 and I had no problem at all. Jesus mjjg told me that problem occurred some time ago with 24.6 but the Indie builds have solved it. Anyway, thanks for your attention, and BTW, the last 24.7 beta is great!
oh man - i spent a lot of time modifiying simplicity (and an upcoming theme) to load an older version of taskbar3 on 9x in the hopes of getting around these taskbar issues on 9x.
that's ok though, i'm glad to hear the problem will be addressed by 0.24.7 beta4. :)
Al: you're on XP now ? Great !
Smurth, I use XP at the office, my home computer is too old and can't support XP, then I'm forced to use Win9x. I do a lot of experiments in my personal computer, cause I can't do this kind of "dangerous" things at the office :)
See ya.
ohh, sorry, I was believing you had bought a new computer. Maybe at Christmas ?
I'm gonna ask Santa if he can bring me one :)
I'm wanting this for almost 3 years now... and XP is a lot better than the past versions of Windows, IMO. (I can't remember if I saw a BSOD since I started using XP...I think not...)
Well, let's see what future brings...
Just one advice (IMO): Win2K is better
