morning all... i'm having an issue that i can't get any closure on and it's starting to irritate me :) I'm using trillian pro with DrWorm's glaze 1.1 theme and for some reason the main trillian window that displays all the buddies seems to appear on every desktop, and does not appear on the vwm. i've gone through every config file, and trillian is not on 'sticky' or anything like that.. just wondering if you guys had any ideas...
sebastian
nope...I had to specifically MAKE it sticky (in the vwm config) so that it would show up on every desktop.
I guess you have tried *VWMFix's already, my only idea. That probably won't work if the app is intentionally sticky.
i use trillian pro and have never seen this behavior. is it only with that skin or only with that theme?
I can confirm that it happens for myself also while using Glaze and another theme I've made. I don't know why. I thought it would be the same for everyone. Trillian has an option when you right-click on the title bar to attach to desktop but I can't turn this option off to see what it does.
yeah, I tried VWMFix but that didn't work... it seems to have the problem only with glaze... on a side note, glaze is great.. nice one DrWorm :)
Thanks, sebastian_dj.
For reference it seems to be a bug with RabidVWM. From my test all themes that use this module has the same effect. You could let the author know but I'm pretty sure you want see a fixed version for sometime.
This actually happens because Trillian by default does not register itself as a window or taskbar entry. You can make it show up on a single desktop by turning on this option:
Preference\General\Contact List\"Show Taskbar Entry"
of course it had to be something simple like that ;) I went through the trillian settings like twice and i skipped over that option.. thanks to everyone who replied with comments, you all made my first post very memorable ;)

Heheh glad I could help. Oh, another tip, if you want to have Trillian visible in the VWM but want the taskbar entry off, and if you use Taskbar3.dll, you can just filter out its taskbar entry with one of these two lines (depending on the Trillian skin)
*TaskbarRemove "icoTrilly"
*TaskbarRemove "trillian-icon"
