I guess it happens since I've installed SP4 on Win2K:
Sometimes, svchost.exe crashes and leave me with no drag'n'drop and other features.
Do someone experiences this ?
Do someone knows if there's a way to fix this (I don't want to go back to SP3)
somone is getting attacked by msblaster or another RPC DCOM worm varient. =)

AcquaCow is your master!
Humm, I've already applied the patch and I don't find any qossrv dir nor than registry entries that run something at startup. I'll make a whole virus scan to be sure.
And... a friend of mine didn't have this problem since I upgrade its Litestep...
Thanks men
Ok, I've restored my system backup, update Kaspersky, do a complete scan. Nothing.
Check the services to see if a new one have been added. Nothing.
Check the registry. Nothing.
Finaly, I switch to 0.24.7 to see if it would change... Hum, Rainmeter and skinbox doesn't work anymore...
...but I'm still waiting svchost to crash...
Have you tried using the msblaster remover? I dont think covering the hole would help once your infected, if you are infected.
I don't think I have a virus on my computer. There's no trace of virus activity. There's just "svchost.exe" that crash sometimes and leave me with no drag'n'drop.
I guess it's a problem between the last Indiestep and Win2K SP4... but I can be wrong, of course
Ok MrGoat, I've just ran msblasterremover and it didn't find anything suspicious
go find yourself a copy of winxp pro. I find it to be a lot more stable than windows predecessors.
I got the same problem.. but a question do you use Opera Browser ?
I think I had this problem after I installed Opera software, I removed it and I didn't get this error... but maybe I'm wrong , try ...
No, I'm using Mozilla Firebird
Maybe it's a specific bug of the french version of SPx
Curiously, this didn't happen since I switch to .24.7b3
Yesterday, I switched back to the Indiestep (because I'm playing with OTS2) but the problem didn't occurs yet...
wait and see
Update
The problem only occurs with Indiestep, not .24.7; I'm sure, now
