Animate Litestep Already! Thread last updated on 2003-08-18 20:41:43

Hi there everyone.

Im a huge fan of litestep and all. Been using it for nearly 3 years or so. But one things that keeps bugging me is that it all seems so....static. Isnt it possible to animate litestep a little?

For instance, what i would like to see is wharfs which slide in and slide out of the screen sides when un/hidden, intro screens ala enlightenment, and OSX style shortcuts which cyclic-rotate when you move the mouse over them. That sort of thing.

Is it a limitation of the Windows kernel, or has noone really thought about it yet? I just think it would make it look so much prettier than it already is.

My $0.02

Vrt.

lsdynamic and layercut can do animation, or if you prefer use mzscript and timer and relocate modules following a time based animation. everything can be done with some patience.

Layercuts animation gives you complete control over the animation due to you having to draw each frame. :) Pains taking process that can be quite rewarding in the end.

sorry for the advertisment, one such theme called "rhodium edge" is one such example that uses animation for its menus. ;)
