Its booting to just a wallpapered screen, yet letting me open IE...I can also get into Word through IE. I went to change themes and it recycled to the wallpaper without loading the interface. What go screwed up and what are some shortcuts I can use to get outta this mess. Im running Windows ME and cant seem to figure out how to boot to DOS or get much else done in windows. I CAN edit files though...

I can't believe this question was asked when the exact same question was posted only a few hours earlier. It's poor form when people don't search before posting but it's even worse when they don't even check the posts on the very first page.
DeViLbOi > Can the link Egonz has given be made a sticky post? Hopefully it will reduce the number of times this questioned is posted every week.
I think it would be an interesting experiment to prevent new members from being able to "start a new thread" within the first week of registering. It should force them to do a little research.
Searching or browsing the forums is rarely very rewarding, and I suppose that if you can't read docs, you can't search the forums either.
In my opinion the Litestep docs cover this kind of stuff, but wouldn't it be wise to collect a small, straightforward FAQ (I know there's a hundred of them out there, but nevertheless) for questions like this and perhaps even set up a tab for it (or make it the topmost item in the upcoming docs tab).
That way the answers for these noobs would be blatantly right under their nose and perhaps none of us wouldn't see this kind of discussion anymore. At least then a simple RTFM and a local link would be sufficient.

OOOOKKKKK WOW Yes Im a newbie. No Im not a newbie to forum's and how or WHEN to post. But when I come to a forum, read a little and then download a program to give it a try, just to have my computer refuse to boot. Now forums are interesting because they can be very conversational, I intended to get a response to my post last night and leave it at that. The only thing I needed to know was that I could hit CTRL ALT F1 to get some functionality back, and yes I found that by looking at old posts.
But keep in mind, the posts are frustrated and in haste. I thought I was seriouslly F***Ed and so posted, so calm down and just dont responde if you don't want to. Remember not everyone on this forum is as veteran as you guys may be, and thats WHY this forum is here. I could of searched on yahoo and found the answer in some long document, but I come to a forum to be able to post a question and have it answered. And each posted guestion, while sometimes very similar, is usually a little unique and requires a different approach. I did check the forum before posting, just not enough, obviously.
In short calm down, isnt this the point of the forum
OH yea NO FLAME please, just defending my post.
if every post could be a little unique... but they aren't! that's why there's a sticky post about it ;)
btw, i'm not angry at you. just a little frustrated.
"In short calm down, isnt this the point of the forum" yes, however, we've been getting about 5+ new threads per week about this same bug ever since it first showed up. which means that you should have been able to find a related post with VERY little effort. and unlike egonz, I AM a little upset with you, and everyone who posts a new thread about this issue, when, AGAIN, there are DOZENS of previous threads about it, including a sticky thread.
