i have installed litestep, and several themes, but only some work.... for some reason only 4 out of 12 themes i have downloaded work, most, when i switch to a theme, the current one dissapers, i.e all the bars etc on screen, but the chosen thesme does not appear, i have updatd to the patched version of LSTS, but it still does it, anyone shed any light on why it does this, i use LS on another computer and have no problems with it...

if you tried the theme with the old lsts then it created the *.thm file, but with the wrong step.rc name. check the theme settings in lsts and be sure that Step is step.rc ;)

And/or get the updated LSTS.

it still does the same, i deleted the old *.thm file, and it makes anew one ok, but it still fails to start the new theme, it only does it with certain ones, sputnick, virus, phreaker to name a few..

Ummm... DON'T delete the .thm file as it will recreate it, again with the wrong step.rc name. Unless you get the patched LSTS that is, in that case you should probably delete the old files that don't work. :P If you want to keep the old LSTS just do what Egonz said.

i have installed the patched LSTS, and deleted all the *.thm files in the theme dir's, but it still does the same for some reason

just check the the *.thm file. is there stdep.rc (sth like that) or step.rc in the Step-box?

yep, checked both and everythink is ok... seems odd coz the work on my other machine fine... i have tried reinstalling litestep, and replacing LSTS again, but with no effect

Check $litestepdir$step.rc for typos.
