Hello,
when I try to run jamptoo, with either of the transparent options on, the scrolling text just smears across until it becomes a solid box. If the text doesn't scroll, the text just stays on the desktop, even if I turn off winamp (I have it set to hide jamp if winamp is off). Does anyone have any ideas of what's going on? Is there anything else I could try? I just want the artist name and track title to be displayed in the bottom area of my desktop and be transparent. Thanks for you help!

instead of using transparency try using magic pink.
Magic pink doesn't seem to make a difference.
hmmm, i had this problem and putting "jAmpTransparencyLevel 2" in the rc fixed it for me
I tried the different levels but didn't make a difference. I should have pointed out that I'm using it in a LsBox. I thought the original post by tcrex2000 was also talking about using it in a LsBox.
I'm using a background bmp now anyway and probably saves a few resources but thought I would mention there does seem to be a problem with it.
Try different versions of jAmpToo.
I've been seeing jAmpToo do improper transparancies when not using a bg image or bg color. It does not properly update. Adding a bg color will immediately correct the problem.

"Adding a bg color will immediately correct the problem."
If you mean to set the bg colour to FF00FF that doesn't work either. At least not with the version I have. I haven't got around to trying other versions yet.
Works for me with 1.4 and a partially updated version I'm playing with. I just used the bg color of 000000 for testing. I basically used the default Simplicity jAmpToo settings but with the black bg.

I might be confused, but if you set the background colour to black then the background is no longer transparent. So this isn't really a fix for the problem as it's described.
Sorry to bring this topic up again - but is there a fix? I'm having the same problem.

I never found one, sorry. I found that jAmpToo had a memory leak so I've changed to using label in it's place. Unfortunately label has poor support for transparency also. Keep an eye out for the new version of xlabel wich might correct this.
