What is the difference between Litestep and Aston other then Litestep is free? Which is the best?

I've never used Aston so I can't compare but I can say that LS has a great community of followers and themers. Since discovering LS I haven't had any desire to try other shell replacements. LS does everything I need and does it (almost) flawlessly.

Before i found litestep i tried aston, it was really hard for me to configure because it assumed i had certain programs and tried to put buttons on my desktop for photoshop (which i dont have) it also put a bunch of links on my desktop to websites like tucows etc. I didnt want that garbage so i deleted those "groups". Then i couldnt get another "Group" to come up so i killed aston. Litestep, with its ots standard means all the themes follow a certain set of rules so that its easy to configure new themes. Litestep is much more configurable and easy imo.

I have downloaded Litestep, but have not tried it yet. I was also looking at Aston. Thanks for all your comments.
