Does anyone out there know of good ls theme that looks and feels like windows xp or mac osx? I tried lite xp, but it didn't work.
If anyone could tell me how to get lite xp to work too, that would bee a good thing.
It's difficult to tell you how to get it to work when we don't know why it's not working. If you could post some details as to specific problems you are having, we might be able to help you. The best advice i can give on the information you've given is to study the documents, read the configuration files, and try to figure out what seems to be not working.
its also good to just do a reinstall and c/p everything imo.
There's a theme called Jaws Step (or something like that) on Wincustomize...it looks like XP.
OK, that's kind of hard to do right now becasue I'm at work. I'll see if I can load litestep on my laptop, and let you know exactly what the error messages are I'm getting.
Basically, thoguh, they are stranged error messages. I get quite a few of them before I just have to do a ctl-alt-f1, and re-load simplicity.
I've downloaded a couple of other themses that worked OK, so I think the light xp one may either be an older theme, or non OTS.
Okay, I've finally been able to update this thread.
When I want to change themes to lite xp, I get the following error messages:
-------------------------------
Uninitialized variable email
at line "shortcut "Outlook" 160 -29 outlook_ql.bmp ioutlook_ql_hl.bmp .none
#4 .None "$Sounds$" "$Email$"
------------------------------
Also,
------------------------------
Uninilialized variable msn
at line "shortcut "MSN Explorer" 5 -270 msn.bmp .None
.none #3HT None "$Sounds$"
!Execute
["$MSN$"] [!Shortcut GroupToggle 3]
------------------------------------
Also:
Error: Could not locate module. Please check your configuration.
-------------------------------
(This one I get several Times!)
I would really appreciate some help here. This theme looks great, and I would really like to get it working!
Thanks!
OK...I found this theme. It's an old one...what you need to do is open up your step.rc and make sure everything points to where it's supposed to...like all your modules are supposed to be in C:\Litestep\modules\ for this theme.
Also, in the 3rd and 4th paragraphs make sure all those shortcuts are pointing to where your programs are actually located...for example:
MSN "C:\Program Files\MSN\MSNCoreFiles\msn6.exe"
Email "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe"
(Those are where mine are located...yours may be in different places)
OK, I'll try that, and let you know how it goes.
Thanks!!
Thank you, cas. Editing the step.rc worked. It was the first time I had ever edited one of the config files, and it took me a couple of times to get all the kinks worked out, but it worked.
Thanks again for the ehlp!
