Ok i managed to change the boot screen with this program called bootxp which is really neat, now im wondering if there is some sort of hacked dll or workaround to let me change the bootscreens myself without installing someone else's program that costs $$$. Also, is there a way to change the welcome and shutdown screens? Those are what i really wanted to change because they dont match anything on my computer :-D

i think you can change them with stylexp, but that costs $$$ too :( or was it shareware...?

I don't know about XP but in 2K you change the boot screens by res-hacking a certain .dll. Search Google for it, you'll probably get better results there than here.

The easiest way to do it is to download bootxp which can be found at http://www.bootxp.net/ They will tell you where you can find different bootscreens and there are also boot screens available at http://www.themexp.org/ Its pretty easy to figure out.

You can also change the boot.ini file and a nice tutorial is here.. http://mypage.bluewin.ch/swissboy7/ReadMe.htm

Youll have to scroll about halfway down the page until you see a sectioin with the title Method boot.ini, its pretty easy to do.
