ok, this is my dillema: I have Litestep with the omar installer and the most recent stable indie build, but when I switch to certain themes, the whole system crashes. I need to reboot and change the system.ini(I've just learned about ctrl+alt+f1 so that might help in one regard), reconfigure litestep, blah blah blah. It wasn't so bad at first but now all the cool looking themes (yes they're OTS compliant)won't run and I'm getting pretty pissed?

I'm running Win98...

...What have I done wrong?

sorry, I should specify that when I say "the whole system crashes" I mean that I get wallpaper, and nothing else, but my ctrl+alt+delete works (so not totally hung).

Thanks in advance...

Try swapping themes with LSCP.

well, that worked...
...anyone know why?

Thanks a lot!

Because of a known LSTS bug. Or actually, because themers claim that their themes are OTS compliant but don't put a .thm file in their theme zips. The patched LSTS ignores this and properly switches themes nevertheless: http://www.charliehamster.co.uk/litestep.html

and if you would have taken the time to do a simple search, you could have saved yourself some hassle ;)
