Hi guys. I'm new to litestep, and already I'm having trouble. It runs great on my single monitor system, but on this dual monitor rig it causes problems. I've had a quick flick through the forums but most of it I didn't understand, lol.

Anyway, I have a primary 19" @ 1024x768 and a secondary 14" @ 800x600 with the secondary to the left of the primary. This is being run on a dual head Radeon 9000.

My problem is, whenever a theme loads, be it simplicity, glaze or cleandesk (these are the ones I've tried) it doesn't all load. It tries to load it on the primary monitor, but bits of it disappear, IE there are gaps in the taskbar. This makes litestep next to useless.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Cheers,
Unts.

you should have your primary monitor on the left. that would solve the most of your problems.

well, those themes aren't really configured for dual monitored systems. you can try switching to RabidVWM (which is the only VWM I know for certain supports dual-monitors), and seeing if that helps.

Also try jdesk for your desktop module.

And search this forum for other tips and tricks. There have been plenty of posts regarding multi-monitor systems.

glaze is very designed for multi-monitor systems, i still guess that your problem is the unusual monitor settings.

Updating litestep from the installer build might help.

It's OK saying my primary monitor should be on the left, but I don't want it like that.

I might fiddle around some more when I get a chance.

Glaze was never tested with vertically positioned monitors. RabidCow pointed out that the miniview was flawed for this configuration. I'm not sure what unwanted effects it might have. I'll see if I can work in some support for the next version.

That sounds fun, i couldnt even move my taskbar much less orientate my whole theme.

having a similar problem here... finding very little help on these boards :(

could take me the best part of a day to figure all this out..

Is there a prefferable multi-monitor mangement program (such as UltraMon) that works well with LiteStep? or should i just forget that all together and let litestep do it all itself?
