taskbar.dll in WinXP Thread last updated on 2003-06-15 19:27:12

I've been running LS on XP for a few days now and the taskbar (taskbar.dll) will not switch tasks properly. It will minimize and restore if you click on things (like windows normally does), but not switch tasks. I assume this is an XP issue cause the exact same config worked on 2000 2 days earlier.

Does anyone know of a fix or workaround? I like the old fashioned look and feel (back from the original LS days), thats why Im using taskbar, not some of the newer task manager modules.

Failing that... Anyone know a good simple task manager module?

Tasks.dll, the one I'm fond of :)

taskbar3.dll is quite like taskbar, but it has more features. on the other hand it has some bugs too. anyway try it out, it's pretty good, if you work your way around the bugs ;)

version 0.303 of taskbar3 is pretty good but I couldn't recommend version 0.305 as I found it to be buggy.

hmmm, anyone know why the original taskbar.dll doesnt work properly? its a bit annoying not switching like this.

Oh, I really wanted autohide too, but it seems taskbar3 doesnt do that. Is there any other modules like this that actually work in XP?

i havn't found a module which doesn't work in xp. if you're having problems, it's usually your config.

well, the good old taskbar.dll is refusing to switch between apps. if you click on another app, it indents it's part of the bar, but leaves the one for the app you were on indented also and no app gets focus.
