magic pink and shortcut2 Thread last updated on 2003-06-14 14:14:17

Hi all! Well, magic pink is transparent as it should be... but so many icons in windows have a darker pink in them that surrounds the bulk of the icon. In winbows, this darker pink apparently shows up as a darker shade of what is behind the icon, but in shortcut2 it shows up as dark pink. Now, it seemns that icons in popups are displayed just fine because they are naturally extracted right out of the files, but for my shortcut2 icons I had to extract them manually into png files. So, what are the possible solutions?

- get magic pink to display correctly in shortcut2?
- manually edit away the darker magic pink. this is really hard, does anyone know how to easily do this without screwing up the way the icon looks?
- use a different module?

Thanks in advance!

if you're on winxp/2k then you can use layercut.dll instead of shortcut2.dll
that module supports per-pixel alpha-transparency.

i guess you extracted the icons on magic-pink. don't do that. extract them on transparent background. then use layercut.dll, it should work.
