I've been having this problem for awhile and it's driving me nuts. I've contacted jesus_mjjg about it, but I'd like to know if anyone alse is having this problem, or knows how to remedy it.
The problem is: when I close an IE window (with the titlebar close button only, and usually after more than one IE window has been opened) it leaves an empty task tile in the taskbar that doesn't respond to any mouse clicks. The only way to remedy this is with a recycle. It's starting to drive me crazy but I need the !taskbarShrink/Grow for the theme I'm working on.
I can say that I have never had this problem with IE. However, there is a problem with windows with the ScreenSaver leaving an empty task behind after the screensaver closes.
can you detail your ie spec, the module loaded and all who will be useful to awnser...
I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106 on Windows XP Pro (no hotfixes) and the latest Taskbar3.dll from shellfront.org I'm also using the indiestep build form 05-13-03
I don't actually have the screensaverclass problem, but I remember it from tasks when I used to used it a couple of years ago
Actually this reminds me of another little bug I'm seeing. I'm finding that all internet shortcuts, or links from websites open in a new IE window when I'm running Litestep as my shell.
my specs are the same as yours (except my ie: 6.0.2600.0000, and i don't have any problem with it, i try, retry and reretry again your situation, nothing happen...
hmm, I had the problem with an older version of IE too. Must be something different. I'll have to see what else it could be.
I think I've found the problem. I tried unloading modules one by one, and the problem seems to stop when I take away RabidVWM.
Ahaus would you mind trying to duplicate the problem by loading up RabidVWM (before or after taskbar3 doesn't seem to matter)? I'll e-mail rabidcow about this, but it would be nice to know if it's a general thing, and not just mine.
I've found quite a few bugs with Taskbar3 0.305 so I've switched back to 0.303. I'm also using RabidVWM so I will try disabling it and see what effect it has.
@frugus With the rabidvwm 1.01, i have no problem (after 10 min of trying and retrying), i use the taskbar3 0.303, maybe it's your version of taskbar3... check that...
I am also using RabidVWM 1.01 and I tried tasks 0.303 and still ended up with the same bug. If anyone is interested, I can send my theme, and you can take a look.

at this time, the only problem i have with your skin, its the wallpaper, when the menu popup, i say the bgcolor, it a window goes over the wallpaper, i saw the bgcolor... but for ie, i have no prob at this time, I continue to test it.
Another thing, when i click on desktop button, in the left-bottom, it saw that the wallpaper wasn't found, except for the desktop 1

I took out the other wallpapers because I didn't want it to be bloated. Besides I don't have permission to distribute any of them.
I don't understand it at all. I messes up everytime for me. are you using Windowblinds by any chance? Maybe it has something to do closing the window via the close button because of the skinning.
Defintely test for the problem without Windowblinds. I found that windows skins caused a few problems for myself with LS so I stopped using them.
for my self, i use style xp, it use the windows template... not a program, and i have no prob with ls
