I'm thinking of installing litestep on my win2k sp2 box. Can people give me as much info as they can about it before I bother because I know it involves changing .Dlls and if I cock it up it wont be fun.
All the .dlls are a part of the theme. If you don't mess with them, they won't mess with you. If you do mess up, you can find the answer on how to fix it in this forum. There's not really much of a risk, try it out.
how does it compare to aston?
Well I've never used/heard of Aston, but I checked out its website. I will bet that LS is better because it is free and the themes are more intricate. Every single theme I saw for Aston was just a combo of a wallpaper, a popup, and a wharf. I guess that's about all it has? Those are just 3 modules of the many LS has. But then again, I have never used it and it's all up to your preferences....so I dunno....just try LS and answer the question for yourself.
Aston = not free, LiteStep = free. Already a huge advantage in favour of LS, and as Mr. White says, there are tons of modules for LS. And new ones popping up now and then.
