LS is great...you just need to be willing to put in the wrench time to learn. There is no roadmap to LS wisdowm though. Pick a theme...find something you want to tweak...break it and go from there. :) If you get stuck there are support irc channels and themers willing to spend time in IM clients to help. Before you start readup on the docs and tutorials and you should be ok, for the more part LS is intuitive.
